For an adventure horror enthusiast like myself there's nothing better than a spooky game set in an interesting location (Cornwall).It's the Equinox and something strange is afoot in Barrow Hill, you are the journalist tasked with finding out the truth behind what's going on there.There 's lots to enjoy here: the story, graphics, puzzles and music.The story of Barrow Hill is full of ancient folklore, pagan rituals and magic which actually makes you want to check out the real life locations this game was based on. The graphics are great for an indie game, a nice change from pixel-style games that are popular now. The puzzles can take some time to figure out but all the clues are there to help you.The use of sound in Barrow Hill is amazing- you can almost feel that there's a presence in the woods watching your every move. Even a crackling twig sounds menacing. I recommend this game to anybody interested in adventure horror games with rich stories.. I believe I was finally at the end of this game, was so happy. I however, accidently clicked ont he pentagram, my items disappeared and the game froze, no way could I retrieve the game and had to finally shut it down through my task manager. Went back into it and no way am I going back to my last save, this is ridiculous! If I didn't dislike the game before, I think I hate it now. What a waste of money and time! I do not want to go back through all of that again. I did get a message that something was missing and I needed to reinstall the game. Damn, you must be kidding, this "old" gal does not have the patients or desire to go through the game again!Loved the first Barrow Hill, this one, not so much, a real pain in the butt!. Played a little bit, but saving for more autumnal evenings. As a fan of Barrow Hill, I knew what I was in for.. Awful.. so dissapointed, nothing like the first one at all feels like its aimed more towards children. First and last "POINT & CLICK" game i will ever buy.The game has a great atmosphere, spooky and all but it is extremely PROBLEM SOLVING. Not my type of game however i do recommend it for people who are looking to play a spooky game without the thrill of being attacked by something while you search for items in the game. One thing i did however find really annoying was the phone calls at certain areas, otherwise its a nice & relaxed atmospheric horror "Point & Click" game.. Ten years ago I was walking through the chilling and haunting area of Barrow HIll and I never wanted it to end. It had just the right amount of suspense and thrills and gave me goosebumps throughout. When you love a game as much as I loved Barrow Hill you worry about a sequel because the bar is set so high. Ten years later I enter the world of Barrow Hill again, this time in The Dark Path. It was like time never passed. BH-The Dark Path is every bit as engrossing as the original and does not disappoint. The sound effects are chilling, the atmosphere is haunting and the puzzles are the right amount of a challenge. I am now eagerly awaiting Bracken Tor. It can't come soon enough! I highly recommend this game!
